Treat recommendations?

My dog is nervous of strangers so we're working on it by initially shutting her away when we answer the door then letting her in when they've sat down. Obviously we need her to know it's not a punishment, so I need some really tasty treats that I can quickly grab and chuck in the room with her to find. They need to be non-perishable and ideally not dependent on being in an airtight tin! Any recommendations please..?

Kongs in the freezer...I make up 3 at a time so there's always one ready and they're pretty time consuming.

But if you're after smaller stuff, nature's menu treats go down well.

But you could freeze anything in small portions anyway, which gets round your perishable problem.

Would agree, Nature's Menu are good, my dog loves them.

But the ones that really worked for me when I needed something special were Thrive chicken liver treats. They're just purely dried chicken liver, they also do chicken, fish and duck and possible some other types, but as most dogs will kill for chicken liver, I keep those as a really high value treat.

They are expensive, but for important training, they're an investment.

My new rescue dog likes the Nature's Menu treats. He refuses to eat the Pedigree cheesy bites and turned up his nose at the treats the vet offered him at his check-up! I've heard that cut up hotdogs or little cubes of cheese work wonders too. Or you could offer small pieces of cooked chicken perhaps? I realise they're perishable but would keep in fridge for a while.
