The doghouse

My dog is constantly slobbering?

Does anyone know why that might be?

He is a 3yo English springer and is perfectly healthy, but my goodness, he is leaving pools of slobber on the floor.

Dog trainer reckons it is a bitch in heat in the vicinity but does anyone else have any ideas?

He has just started doing this over the last 3 weeks.

TIA x

He could potentially have dental issues, either sore/infected gums from tartar build up, tooth decay or even a fractured tooth. There are other reasons for excessive salivation, nausea, sore mouth other than dental problems, poisoning - although the latter is probably unlikely if it has been going on for three weeks!

I'd be tempted to have his mouth looked at by a vet TBH.

Will do, Aked. It calmed down a bit but then started up again.

I have has a gentle look in his mouth and can't see anything obvious but I will make sure he gets seen. Thank you!
