Just waiting for the vet to open to get confirmation.... He started coughing about 3am and his symptoms match Dr Google. He's a 4 year old collie cross so hopefully he'll get over it quickly.

Yesterday we attended a 'doggie play-date' with about 15 other dogs - once I have the diagnosis I'll contact the organiser. I feel bad but he was symptom-free yesterday....

If the vet doesn't suggest it, which he might, mine does, get him some children's Benylin to give him a bit of respite from the coughing.

I always use baby Tixylix ,my dog is vaccinated but has still had KC 3x ,the vaccine doesn't cover all the strains ,like the human flu vaccine ,and my boy is really susceptible to it .

Thank you, I wouldn't have thought to give him cough medicine! The vet has confirmed it, fingers crossed he picks up in a few days.....

My dog had this a couple of years ago, just after I'd got him vaccinated against it, but before it had had a chance to take effect. Only a mild version of it, but it was a deep cough, like a honk, almost and he was coughing up white foam.
