How much, roughly, would a 15 month old Germán shepherd need Per. Day?

I know the weight of the dog affects to amount, and they are Due for deworming, but they seem insatiable. Haven't seen any worms in their poo although they did lose a huge amount of weight during Two weeks in kennels. Been home Two weeks and are gaining weight slowely.

Deworming will be done by the weekend if OH wants to live

First disclaimer is that I am a raw feeder, not a vet!

Could the instatiable thing just be coming from the fact they are enjoying their food?

Advice is 2 - 3 % of ideal bodyweight, start at 2.5% and move up or down depending on whether they gain, lose or maintain. You could try 3 and see how it goes if you are wanting to gain.

Some vets are anti raw feeding. I don't think they learn about it in their training. Better to ask on one of the rawfeeding groups, like this one. My rescue GSD x was underweight and they gave me brilliant advice on changing to raw and how often/how much to feed him.

What food was your dog eating in kennels? Kibble has a filler which makes dogs feel full which of course is not in raw food.

So some dogs if they go to raw food do appear to be starving (also raw tastes so much nicer)

If your dog needs to put on weight I would be giving up to 3% of the actual weight you want him to be . Foot note if your dog is malnourished etc or been starved you will obviously have to build up to this amount slowly.

Agree join the raw feeding groups they will give you detailed advice

Thanks for that link griffon

They were eating kibble in the kennels, and here in Chile people haven't caught up with the idea of raw food so I can't Get passed Confused if talking about it with our vet. Plus of course it means I'm not spending money in his shop

What we actually need right now is to make them feel satiisfied so they don't feel the need to escape and chase rabbits. If they ever will not want to chase a rabbit.
