Border collie refuses to go for a walk

My border collie loves going on walks especially the beach but now every time we try to put her lead on she growls and try's to bite anyone have any ideas why

Get the dog checked out at the vet. She could be in pain/ill.

Did anything happen the last time she went out for a walk, was she attacked, did she get lost?

What kind of collar/lead do you use? If it's a choke/half choke, she could be reacting to that. Collies are not soft and will soon click on if a collar is causing them physical grief.

Who is the person who walks her? Have there been any disagreements/strong chastisements happening? Again, collies are clever and remember stuff. An aggrieved collie might vote with her feet.
