My parents dog had this about a month ago - he's absolutely fine now and happy as ever. He has changed to 3 small meals a day and an hour rest after eating before exercise but so far no ill effects.

thinking of you and sending best wishes to your beloved dog xx

Hope she pulls through. My last girl pulled through twice. First time there were no problems. Second time she had part of her stomach stapled to something to stop it twisting again.

Was touch and go each time so you have my sympathy. Hope you have good news soon.

Not quite the same but my mums Ragdoll cat had 2 bowel resections for intussuception at different places in his bowel at 16 weeks . His chances at the time were way less than 50:50 and he's about 11 now . Fingers and paws crossed here for your dog.X

My boy had it in 2008 and is alive and well and snoozing on the sofa as we speak. Good luck, I know what you're going through now. Keep us posted. x

Hopefully you have heard by now how the surgery went from a pretty exhausted vet (it's very physically demanding). I hope everything went well.
I have a large cohort of patients who have survived this surgery.

This happened to my brothers dog just before Xmas. He's absolutely fine now and there have been no problems since.
Hope your doggie is ok too.

One very exhausted vet! But he was pleased with how surgery had gone, although he did remove the remains of the "feed the birds" set my daughter got for her birthday which is what caused the initial problem. Thieving Spinone. Think we were lucky to catch it as quickly as we did but fingers crossed for next 24 hours. Thank you everyone for replying.
