Big Dog was sat in Little Dogs place next to DH.

Little dog barks at me for attention.

Give her a stroke.

Jealous Big Dog, jumps down , cos if Little Dog is getting attention, so is Big Dog.

Little Dog skirts round her and straight into her place on DH's Lap.

Not daft, Little Dog Grin

My big pointer dog knows my running clothes and gets excited coz she knows we're off running. I can be wearing leggings and a tshirt and she's zonked out sleeping, change into 'running' leggings and 'running' t shirt and she's bouncing off the walls with excitement...

Yep my two, on work days don't even get out of bed when I come downstairs.

The days that I take them straight out, they are jumping around like maniacs.

I have know I idea how they know tho, as I work term time only, and DH works shifts, so no two days are the same.

The only difference is I dont usually shower before I take hem out on days off, so they cant hear it.

Clever crafty dogs Meg!

My dog can be very clever e.g. fetching different toys on command or going to the hall every night at 6pm just in time for me to drive down the back lane.

And very silly e.g. wading ankle deep into a big puddle of wee that a golden retriever had just made in the park. And then standing there wagging her tail and looking as like she was enjoying a pampering foot spa.

The last one made me chuckle!

My old flatmate had a little dog who knew what time she got home every day and at that time he would ignore me and sit by the window until he saw her car ten run and sit on the arm of the sofa by the front door waiting for her

haha that reminds me when we had 2, Jack (The boss) Scottie and Bob (the old man) Westie.

Bobs favourite spot is at the end of the sofa, if Bob was in the spot Jack would go to the edge of the sofa and growl and bark at Bob for a reaction until he jumped down to play. As soon as he got down Jack would tear past him, dive on the sofa and get comfy. Bob fell for it every time without fail.

We lost Jack last year, but you are right, never underestimate the cleverness of a dog who wants something :)

They can also be very sweet.

My daughter was at my house the other evening She was telling me about a problems she was having and she started to get upset and started crying. My little dog has never seen anyone cry before, but she ran over to my DD, stood up in front of her, put her paw on her knee and looked up at her.

After she'd stopped crying DD said it was strange how the dog wasn't wagging her tail or being all excited like she normally does, she just stood there looking into DD face as if she was concerned and sympathetic.

Patch knows how to make me smile every day. He sleeps with his whole body pushed up against my knees in bed. He knows he has to wait until DH is out of bed to go under the covers in the morning.

When I get out of bed, he jumps down, runs to the hallway and greets me as if we haven't seen each other all night Grin
