Puppy has come home today, he's a 6 month old Podengo. He seems very well behaved apart from chucking up in the car most of the way home! Am hoping that settles down.

He's following me and dd round quite a bit but seems happy and enjoying exploring a bit. Just hoping he doesn't cry too much tonight!

Oh one thing, breeder said she wasn't going to register his KC registration as she sold him to me quite cheaply due to his age. She's given me a copy of his pedigree/family tree. There's lots of photos of the breeder at Crufts, etc with dogs of the same breed winning rosettes, etc. Rosettes everywhere round the house, so I think the dog is a good pedigree and healthy, etc.

I wasn't bothered at the time as not planning on breeding or showing but have googled since I got home and google says its only bad breeders who do this???????

I also have no idea as mine is a 'Battersea special ' , wouldn't bother me though if he's healthy and you got him for a good price . He looks lovely , the ears are fabulous !

Mmmmm, it is a bit odd. I know breeders often put restrictions on so you can't breed, etc.

I've had two non KC pedigree dogs now. Although it can be a sign of fronts for puppy farms etc there are also genuine reasons.

My first Lab was the result of a very unwanted mating. The owner did not know that his bitch had come into season again so soon and was out working his dog with others and did not realise they must have mated. This meant they couldn't be KC.

Hully came to us via a former rescuer who dognapped her mum and the pups, who were on bad condition. I mentioning wasn't fussed about KC registration as I simply wanted a family dog., not one to show and certainly not to breed.

I've had another look at the website and it says "price of pet puppies from £450". I assumed these were non show quality but now I'm thinking that maybe a litter one year is registered and the next litter isn't, so more puppies can be bred.?

Can't think of any other reason and there were an awful lot of puppies of different ages.
