Puppy poo (again)

So pup seemed ok for a week on new food and then sudenly poo's got a bit yucky so i thought i would try something else, put him on JWB (as my other dog eats this and has nice firm poo's), after a couple meals he started getting loser and is now passing blood again even though i put him back on his old food. I dont want to have to go to the vets again as i know its 'colitis' and will probably settle again. I just dont know what to do, do i wait a few days and hope it settles back down on the old food? do i try another food? if so what?

Chicken and rice does not seem to help (i think he has a chicken allergy), i have given him some plain rice for lunch as i cant starve him again as he cant afford to lose anymore weight Sad.

What is the best food for a pup with colitis?

I have no idea what you would be best to do in the short term but I think feeding seems to be just trial and error as you find what suits each dog.

JWB was recommended to me but really upset my pup as seems most things do! Vet told me to go straight back onto his old food and give his stomach the chance to settle before trying anything else.He is now doing well on Arden Grange. Vet also told me to feed him a little probiotic yoghurt too. You have my sympathy though as it seems so hard to find the right thing.

Thank you, i was giving him probiotic yoghurt (when we first got him), i was told to try him on JWB for at least a week but after one day he was quite poorly and passing blood so put him straight back on the other food, will give it a week and see if he settles back down, if not i will try something else (maybe Arden Grange), i think i will just give him rice today in hope it will firm up his poo a little.

JWB really affected my Lab.

She thrived on Burns though.

Thank you, will feed the JWB to my other dog Smile, fingers crossed it will settle down in a few days, have just givin him some more rice (am feeding him small meals 3 times a day). Will do him some scrambled egg tomorrow.

Just caught him eating a rotten apple in the garden which wont help, he seems to eat any thing he can lay his teeth on (typical lab).

my pup (lab x) has a sensitive tummy. He had to have a steroid jab, antibiotics and is now on a sensitive tummy prescription only food. he is miles better but he still suffers occasionally as he will eat ANYTHING! I have ot be vigilant wiht anything left lying around and once our food is eaten plates, cutlery etc is put well out of his reach!
