Should I walk puppy today?

Was just out off-lead in our field and puppy(8 month golden) started chasing the cat. Cat got through a fence and Bailey gave a whimper. Thought it was cause the cat got away but then he came back to me, lay down and started licking his paw.

Took him inside (not limping, no sign of pain) and he lay down again licking and gnawing at his paw. I've had a look(no probs with me touching it) and can't see a cut or anything obvious but there were branches down where he was so could have just stood on something.

So my question is should we go for our walk today? If we get too far and he decides he's sore I can't just carry him back to the car or should I just stick to off lead field runs today? (Field is right next to the house so no issue)

Is there anything deep down in between his toes?

I've had a good look and not that I can see. I've had him out for a run in the field and he was fine. Think ill just keep to the field today to be safe but back to normal tomorrow

Is he limping? If not, I would continue as normal but closer to home.
