She's 6 months now and strong and getting very determined if she see's another dog / someone she know / is heading anywhere she can go off the lead.

She can walk to heel, but when she is focused on getting ahead food/toys aren't getting her attention.

The Kumfi was a brilliant short term aid with my last lab to encourage her to turn and look at me when I was giving a command. But she was about 3 when we were taught to use it by the trainer.

Is she too young? We can do stop and sit etc, but I simply can't keep her attention on me.

I have a 5 month old Labrador/poodle/springer spanial cross who is just the same. SOO much energy. I tried a halti which was a total waste of money as he just lay down until he had rubbed it off and then would carry on as before. So I tried a harness and he is much better. Easier to control when he is misbehaving and better behaved as he knows its not worth the effort as it doesn't get the results.

I didn't like the Halti at all when it was suggested to me years ago. The Kumfi head collar was great it seems to look comfier.

I just want to ensure she is paying attention to me so we can go forward with training not backwards.

Your Dog sounds an ACE mix although a little challenging Grin
