Hormones settling down after spaying

Hi our 16 month old Staffie Ruby was spayed last Wednesday. Physical recovery is fined, vet was pleased at her check yesterday.

She was spayed at the 3 month point after her second season.

She is quite 'ratty' with our younger staffie at the moment (they do have occasional spats of this) will this calm down as her hormones calm down?

I doubt it's hormone related, but she could be grumpy as she is still a little uncomfortable or feeling out of sorts after her op.

Are the Staffs both bitches? Either way, I would work really hard to nip any 'spats' in the bud, as although Staffs are lovely, lovely dogs they can tend to be dog aggressive, especially with other dogs of the same sex. You may also find that things get worse as the dogs both reach maturity, especially as they are fairly close in age.

Yep both bitches. We are stopping it as soon as it starts.

Ruby has become very demanding over the last couple of days as well, if I dont sit down and cuddle her/feed her/walk her as soon as she wants she barks and barks. She wasnt like this before op.

She dosnt seem uncomfortable, but is really not liking having to have lead walks, (we live on Salisbury plain and usually runs miles) could it be pent up energy?
