Crates

YeahDog is now 6 months (pics on profile) and we've been using a crate at night since we got her. It's been brilliant for toilet training, she never makes a mess in her crate at night and is usually reliable during the day.
She's not mad keen on the crate and we have a nightly chase round the coffee table to get her in. Her sleeping place of choice would be the sofa. Hmm
Her crate is getting too small. She can still stand up in it and turn round, but it's getting tight. So, question is, do we get a bigger crate or ditch the crates at night and just go for a dog bed and hope she uses it rather than the sofa .

we ditched our crate as cherry hated it. she is fine but I shut her in the kitchen and dining room so she cant do any damage.

I agree, my dogs like their crate, but they see it as their den, if she doesnt like it, then there isnt any point in spending money on another one.

Beautiful dog btw :)

If you can train her to like a crate, it will be a huge bonus for her and you can then get another, bigger one.

I usually only have crates until mine are toilet trained/reliably not chewing as I don't have room for loads of them, but I have kept one for the 'puppy' (year old, so not really a puppy anymore) as he tends to be a bit anxious. Him and two of my other dogs can usually be found crammed into it during the day, which would be fine, only it's only just big enough for one adult Golden Retriever, let alone two plus a medium sized dog too! Hmm As soon as he knows it's bed time he eagerly rushes into the crate and waits for his bedtime treat, it's very cute. Smile
