Poor Dan, Susan really is the the Mother in law from hell and he has to live in the same street.
Libby goes crying to her parents about the slightest thing and tells them much too much. I can understand why he feels so put out.
Don't worry I know it's not realgrin

schroeder Fri 05-Feb-10 23:54:25

Obviously I am blush

yes and no
he is in hell, poor bloke,. but poor libby.
susan could try the patience of a saint though

Anniek Sat 06-Feb-10 08:25:12

Yes, I'm sorry Dan has turned from nice supportive bloke to numpty, without passing go and without collecting £200! angry

He would do anything for ex wife Sam but won't even show consideration for 50 something MIL for being hormonal as she is having his child!

anonacfr Sat 06-Feb-10 09:20:45

Anniek I agree with you to a certain extent but Susan (who used to be a cool character) has turned really psycho recently.
I don't remember her being that protective of Libby in the past.

That scene in the bush when she whines that he's taking her daughter away from him... How about the fact that she never mentions her other 2 children and their kids? It's all a bit MIL from hell- and everyone going on and on about how grateful he should be at what she's doing for them... hmm There is a limit.

Obviously blush too!

did she lose the baby?

DON'T READ IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED ALL THIS WEEKS EPISODES

Libby, Karl and Susan are all being really unsymathetic to Dan and excluding him. Susan is a real pain atm- you're right, she used to be cool and now she is all over libby like a rash. Libby is being pathetic too- she shouldn't go running to her parents the whole time.

HOWEVER, Dan should grow up and stop arguing with Susan, it is totally his fault that she lost the baby and that's really sad
I mean, FGS, he's meant to be the headteacher isn't he and he's acting like a spoilt brat.

disclaimer- I know it's not real too blush

I feel sorry for Dan & Libby - I think it's a good storyline, everything going wrong, but not with one person being 'the baddy' and the other just perfect. They are both being stoopid but also both feeling let down. It's all quite sad.

Anyone else hoping Sunny's parents take her away pdq?

anonacfr Sat 06-Feb-10 12:19:54

Quite frankly aside from the Kennedy storyline everything else in Neighbours is dull as s**t at the moment.
I can't stand the Ramsay kids (particularly Kate) Sunny/Zeke is just dull (I assume we're meant to think they're a modern day Romeo/Juliet?) and nothing else is happening.

blush again by the way...

schroeder Sat 06-Feb-10 14:26:54

I also seem to be the only one who likes the ramseys- I like Harry especially (not sure why)

But the only characters that are keeping me watching at the mo are Dec and Lucas. And they don't have much to do now without their respective love interests.

Not that I'm really about to stop watching-I've been addicted for over 20 yearsblush

RTKangaMummy Sat 06-Feb-10 20:05:42

i don't feel sorry for Dan but Susan is a nightmare MIL but also he flies to NZ to see ex GF

Libby is so stupid as well

leavingonajetplane Mon 08-Feb-10 21:30:59

Schroeder we have the same favorite characters. i also have a soft spot for Harry and feel sorry for the poor mixed-up guy at the moment.

Declan is the only character that kept me watching during dry patches last year but I think James Sorensons acting is a cut above the rest. Especailly his reaction when Bridget died, which I will admit only in this forum, that I have re-watched on youtube ..

And someone needs to realise that Lucas is not relaxing with coffee and paper because he has suddenly developed an interest in world affairs...

Neighbours dullness is being made up for by Home and Away's fabness atm.

I think they are trying to write Dan out as he is leaving soon. It's all a bit obvious though - he's gone from dream husband to arch-villain in about 2 weeks!

rey Tue 09-Feb-10 12:57:49

Susan has now become a nightmare from hell mother and mother-in-law. Libby needs her understanding and support not driving a wedge between her and Dan. However Dan I have no sympathy for he wants everything his own way, runs off to support ex-wife whenever she beckons but does not do the same for Libby who emotionally needs him just as much and in fact moreso as she is his wife now. Only thing got me watching it so good writing now!

anonacfr Tue 09-Feb-10 14:04:01

I didn't realise Dan was leaving the show. They're getting rid of all the good characters/storylines.

Susan's being completely irrational IMO. I could see how Dan was feeling completely left out- the whole pregnancy had been a Kennedy production, I don't think he ever got to feel the baby kicking once- he might have turned a bit petulant occasionally, but I can totally relate to him.

Libby was trying really hard to 'side' with her husband (not that she should have to) even before her mother lost the baby. Every single time Susan questioned every decision (finding out the sex of the baby etc) Dan and Libby made until things went the way she wanted them to go.
Not only was she disregarding Dan's input but ultimately Libby's too.

I'm amazed Karl didn't step in sooner.

Anyway blush again

lovemynano Tue 09-Feb-10 16:32:56

Not sorry to see the back of Dan - he's wearing more makeup than Boy George these days - check out the inch-think foundation today. Looks like Sunny may finally be leaving though - hurray!

mrsfossil Thu 11-Feb-10 12:04:53

Yes Dan is a bit of a wingeing bore, i've heard hes off but Libby is staying. Also that Pauls other kids by one of those allessi twins are coming into it. We need some new characters. Maybe some big storys like killing off Lyn and Sunny?

Also does anyone else find Steph annoyingly nosey and always feels that she knows best?

muggglewump Thu 11-Feb-10 12:12:24

*Spoiler Alert*.

Steph gets pg with Dan's baby and blames it on Toadie.

I can't wait for that storyline.
I hate Sunny though, so annoying as are the Robinson kids.

I do quite fancy Lucas, but not as much as Aden from Home and Away. I will cry when he leavessad

anonacfr Thu 11-Feb-10 12:23:03

Yes Steph is a pain in the a**se.

She was annoyed that her 'best friend' hadn't confided in her. How about giving her time to grieve and sort herself out before getting all jealous?

She was also super annoying when she was seeing the married man. Whatever happened to him btw?

mrsfossil Thu 11-Feb-10 12:26:30

omg i can't believe Steph she needs a good slap. She seems to like going off with married men. Looking forward to that storyline will difinately spice things up. How can she blame it on Toadie though as they arnt sleeping together?

anonacfr Mon 15-Feb-10 17:15:39

So now Susan is happy to hear her daughter's husband has moved out and KARL is asking him to leave town?

I definitely feel sorry for Dan now!

satc2bringiton Tue 16-Feb-10 09:14:37

Can someone fill me in as to why it was Dans fault that Susan lost the baby?

leavingonajetplane Tue 16-Feb-10 13:54:42

Lets see satc. Karl decides, in his ultimate wisdom, that the best way to resolve all the tension is to drag Susan, Libby and Dan off to a holiday house somewhere in the bush.

Dan attempts to escape by going for a walk, very understandably IMO.

Susan insists on going with him

Dan strides ahead, along the trail and we get lots of building drama with Susan seeming out of breath, hurrying to keep up etc. Dan does look like a teenager as he has his headphones stuck on the whole time.

They row. Dan storms off. Susan falls over in her upset, shouts after him but due to his headphones he doesnt hear her.

By the time Karl and Libby get her to hospital, stress, dehydration, lenght of time she was lying there etc combined are too much in high risk pregnancy.

And the lesson we learn from this? Next time anyone on this board is planning to use their mother as a surrogate, despite medical advice to the contrary due to her MS and age, dont go holidaying in a remote location if your DH is rowing with the ILs

satc2bringiton Tue 16-Feb-10 15:02:40

Great recap, thanks smile

dayday Tue 16-Feb-10 23:54:19

I DONT FEEL SORRY FOR DAN. Could he not just shut up until the baby was born. Susan was doing them the biggest favour of their lives but Dan changed all evil and moody and controlling just like a teenager, he should have shut his trap for libbys sake, bens sake and their childs sake. Now hes got nothing
