The glory that is Malcolm in the Middle

DS3 just quoted it (watching the football) - Dewey says after his birthday "I expected nothing, yet still I was disappointed" :o

Best moments are probably Hal rollerskating and Hal speed-walking - but then Lois was my parenting role model for many years. I do love Lois. Are there fellow fans out there?

...Hal in court then explaining to Lois why he took every Friday off...

Hal and his family at the new age weirdo festival where the festival goers thought they were a pastiche of a suburban family Grin

the helper monkey and Craig....

one of the best scenes is Dewey and Lois when she accuses him of seeing a new mum, as he has came home smelling of fabric conditioner and he says its only socks......they go into a mum/dad scenario, utterly hilarious

the episode where Lois is pregnant and imagines her family were all girls, as girls are easier.....

the one where Reece is dumped by a girl he liked and Lois gets her own back for him..

the one where Hal is playing cards with his friends and loses ....

just love it all

I forget how funny Malcolm in the middle was. Hal was the best, his high pitched scream, the time him and his friends made their babies compete, whenever he tried to stand up to Lois.
I miss the show.

Love it so much. Hal is a great character.

I'd forgotten Hal and the dominoes :o. It's on at the moment somewhere - I don't know what channel but DS3 has it on series record so we always have it to fall back on. I saw Francis pretending to be gay so he could get in with the beauty pageant girls the other day.

I have an obvious Francis and a Malcolm (in the right birth order) - but am let down by my the other two - probably just as well.

Loved it too. Too many favourites to list but the roller skating one stands out, as does the one where Reece becomes leader of a dog pack, the family fighting the clowns at Lois's birthday party and many others.

I loved the evil Grandma and Piama, they were great characters.

It was a great show, my favourite ep has to be when the whole town was evacuated because of something Hal did & the family had to sleep in a high school gym along with lots of other people. Reece went about scamming people for essentials like toilet paper, Dewey pretended he was an orphan & then Hal heard about the orphaned child & blamed himself for the death of his parents & then he went about emotionally blackmailing people for money to give to the orphaned child, not knowing that it was in fact Dewey and then the moment everything comes out is tv gold. I do miss it but Lois use to drive me mental, I always felt so bad for Malcolm.

The relationship between Francis & the brothers. Just too good. So glad it's back on.

Love this show - the final episode where Lois reveals her plan for Malcolm's life is epic.

Haven't seen that many this time round, but loved the Burning Man festival one and the one where Hal quits his job to become a painter and ends up almost suffocating under an inch-thick layer of paint! We also shrieked with laughter in my house at Stevie( who is great) smashing through the garage while wearing a kind of mobility suit. That and the subsequent beating up of Reece! ....he's still seeing four of everything. Genius stuff!

Love it! My favourite episode is the one where Hal and the boys go to visit Francis at the ranch and Malcom and Reese buy the illegal fireworks Grin

The episode where Lois had to wear loads of makeup at work and she came home and complained to Hall about it but he just went into a lust-crazed grab for her. And then later on when she turned her baseball cap backwards and he did the same thing.

The one where Reese peeled off his sunburn from neck down in one big body-shaped piece and brought it in to show Lois. Lois was hoovering and the skin got sucked up. The way she looked at Reese and said 'it just...took it!'.

And I always used to love the way Lois used to lose her temper and scream at them in that very low voice. 'WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE'!

Love it Grin

Nice to see so many fellow fans :). And yes, even the minor characters are great - Craig and Lois' evil mother.

When I want one of the DCs to do something or if they've been especially nice, I'll say "you've always been the best one". They know I lifted it from Lois (when she's trying to get the boys to confess to something) - but it's become a bit of a family catchphrase.

Been thinking. The episode when Lou's finds out she's pregnant with Jamie is fab, Reece ordered a swimming pool . Hal and his battle with the Bee. Malcolm's neurotic friends at school. Hal's battle with the bin men and the large cat habit. Hal and Francis hiring the motor bikes and they run them through the house. Lois father giving Reece a live grenade and blowing up the fridge.

I could go on and on. Grin

Hal and his homemade speed ramp.
Malcolm sleeping in the tent in the garden and getting into a fight with an owl and coming in for breakfast with scratches on his face. Reece trying to find out what his special gift is and comes into the kitchen with scratches all over him and crosses off his list 'talking to animals' as not one of his gifts.

Me and DH used a line from the show in our wedding vows! From the episode where Lois thought she was pregnant and she and Hal had an enormous row... A small moment but incredibly romantic, we still abide by it today. The rollerskating episode is my absolute favourite though.

Such a cool programme. My favourite is Dewey asking for some new toy - they show what he thinks is happening, him giving a calm, rational explanation why he should have it. Then show what's actually happening and it's him just lying on the floor tantruming, screaming I want, I want it. I often look at ds and wonder if the calm rational scene is what's playing in his head.
