Great little dramas - Moving On (BBC1)

I remember these from last year, and now there's a new series at 2:15 each afternoon. I've set the machine to record them because a supply of 45-minute dramas with good stories and quality actors (today's starred John Thompson, Julie Hesmondhalgh and Shane Richie) is well worth having. To be recommended!

I really enjoyed today's episode. It's so refreshing to see original 'stand alone' drama and I hope as many people watch as possible.

I love Moving on- not watched today's but will look forward to catching up on that with a cuppa at some point. So many fab ones- the Hayley Mills one and the one with the cross dressing son still stick in my memory - always well written and well cast.

Jimmy mcgovern is a fantastic writer. Todays one was very good, but Mondays was better with Shane Ritchie, Hayley from Corrie and john Thomson who i love! They should make more even if i do that 'what have they been in before?' Bit.. Better than normal daytime tosh.. ( although i do like the Judge)

Yes, it's so impressive how JMcG manages to get the characters and plot sufficiently developed in less than an hour - great talent he has there. (Haven't watched yesterday's or today's yet, but will be catching up a little later).

Jimmy McGovern is the Executive Producer, not the writer. He has a big hand in the characters and the stories though.

I really like these dramas too. Utterly believable (unlike Father BrownGrin).

I've just got round to watching some of these. Top quality standalone dramas, with very good casts. I loved the one with Hayley Mills/Peter Egan, and the one with Lisa Riley. They remind me a bit of Tales of the Unexpected, without the twists. They're wasted on an afternoon slot!

How did you see them, I can't find them on Sky on demand?

They were on BBC1 back in February, Lovely.
