did anyone see this, i think it was on last night. I didn't and only came by it by chance when flicking the channels. couldn't believe the brief flash that i saw, quickly turned over when i realised i was looking at real dead bodies (thought it was a horror film at first..). just wondered what people thought of it

Thank you for posting about this.

I had no idea this existed, or was being shown.

To quote two paragraphs from an article about it:

"In the past three years almost 200,000 Syrians have been killed. Some have been gassed. Some have been tortured. Many have been tossed into mass graves. Every day people risk their lives to tell their stories. And every night we watch more of them die.

"Night Will Fall is being shown “in the hope that scenes like these will never be forgotten, or repeated”. Everyone should watch it, to find out who we are. We can hope. We can always hope. But hope doesn’t always go that far."

I watched it all through. One of the most powerful documentaries I've seen as it didn't shy away from showing the terrible, terrible truth of what happened.

The worst thing is knowing that the UK id partly responsible for the conditions leading to so many such evil.

What age DC do you think could watch this?

I have teens and a preteen. They've had assemblies this week (anniversary) and one was shown clips in RE and has asked to watch. I'm planning to watch (as DC said it's available online) so will make my own mind up. But was wondering what anyone else thought.

It was pretty horrific tbh - there were very direct pictures of corpses in close up, and other remains. Older teens only in full imo

I think you need to watch it and then decide tbh. I couldn't watch it in one go as it was too upsetting (to me). But others might feel differently

Thanks.

If it was the 16 yo asking, I think I'd say yes. As it isn't, your answers are confirming my instinct to say no to the younger ones.

BTW, there were ceremonies today. The PM was not present. Who represented Great Britain?

I've watched it now.

It seemed the right thing to do today.
