Anyone watching? Love Stephen K Amos, he is very funny.

Grrr no signal on Sky due to weather conditions, also have v slow internet, maybe I'll download tonight's overnight.

Felt so relaxed and cosy watching last night's, GBB always has that effect.

Tweedledeedum Tue 22-Jan-13 21:04:43

Hmm not as funny as last night so far...

vigglewiggle Tue 22-Jan-13 21:07:02

We thought it was hilarious in this house. DH nearly fell of his seat at one point.

I now NEED bakewell tart!

emess Tue 22-Jan-13 22:42:19

I am now a fan of Warwick Davies! I wasn't fussed about him on TV before. He's so much better when he's not having to downplay his talents so as not to outshine a certain Mr Gervais. Even Duncan Bannatyne surprised me; I normally find him a bit arrogant but he was a good sport.

Bakingnovice Tue 22-Jan-13 23:28:35

The first one was hilarious! Them custard slices! Joe brand was v funny with not slicing hers.

MunchkinsMumof2 Wed 23-Jan-13 08:51:28

Another brilliant episode, loved Warwick Davies and Duncan's tiniest gateau in the world!

WingDefence Wed 23-Jan-13 13:38:38

I'm just watching the second episode as I recorded it last night. If that bunch of amateurs can make a Bakewell tart, I reckon I could have a go grin

Haven't got to the showstoppers yet but my money's on Warwick so far. I've only seen him in films not on the tv and he's pretty good.

LIZS Wed 23-Jan-13 13:40:50

love the squirrel - he's the new Sue !

WingDefence Wed 23-Jan-13 13:45:55

Oh and I noticed the K-Mixes too.

Ooh Duncan's egg whites look a bit rough second time round...

MunchkinsMumof2 Wed 23-Jan-13 20:02:10

Looking forward to tonight's-wish it was on longer than 4 days.

I made custard slices yesterday after watching this on Monday. They were surprisingly easy. I guess using shop bought puff pastry probably counts as cheating though ? grin

Is it just me that gets slightly annoyed by Julia bradbury she always seems so pleased with herself

Stoneinwelly Wed 23-Jan-13 20:40:53

DP and I agreed Julia Bradbury seems very lively . DP then said she was probably wild "in her pomp". I'd never heard this expression before but I think she is still in her pomp!

MunchkinsMumof2 Wed 23-Jan-13 21:21:15

Loved Ellie, such a sweet girl. Thought they all did well tonight. Looking forward to Claudia Winkleman tomorrow, she always makes me laugh.

ILoveOnionRings Wed 23-Jan-13 21:45:31

I found Julia irritating too. Really liked Ellie but always have (thought she should have come in the top 3 in Sporting Personalitis too).

WingDefence Thu 24-Jan-13 14:04:39

I thought Julia was okay. Really not sure about Kirsty getting joint SB though - should have been Ellie on her own.

Wasn't as funny as last night's - I laughed out loud a few times - but I'm looking forward to tonight's smile

MunchkinsMumof2 Thu 24-Jan-13 14:35:15

It's such lovely television and makes me want to be more adventurous with my baking!

beanandspud Thu 24-Jan-13 20:06:07

Anyone watching tonight's episode? I have enjoyed my 8pm date with Paul Hollywood this week wink

ILoveOnionRings Thu 24-Jan-13 20:10:25

I am

ILoveOnionRings Thu 24-Jan-13 20:28:23

Have I missed something but why is Martha whispering?

Salteena Thu 24-Jan-13 20:31:42

Lost her voice, onionRings.

Had to laugh at Mel's box-ticking joke

beanandspud Thu 24-Jan-13 20:32:46

I used to love lemon meringue pie... some of these are truly dreadful!

ILoveOnionRings Thu 24-Jan-13 20:34:24

When they first said lemon meringue, I said to DH 'I could make one of those' but now I am not to sure

Arithmeticulous Thu 24-Jan-13 20:37:15

That has indeed 'been on a journey' grin

Arithmeticulous Thu 24-Jan-13 20:37:41

And doesn't Mary like Ed shock
