My son is 12 and growing all the time. But he wants designer labels such as nike/ adidas, to be the same as his friends.

But he needs 3 pairs; school, football boots, and outside school
so where can I get them at a reasonable price?
Im on a tight budget and dont want to pay much for all three.

Is it worth getting them a size too big to make them last longer?

Why does he need a pair for school and outside school? My girls have one pair for both.

All the big sports discount places are worth a go - usually on retail parks; Sportsworld/ JJB etc

Thanks for that.

He used to have one pair for both, but he plays in mud/water etc and often he would be without shoes! It was so much easier with two pairs.

I think I will go back to the one pair though. As Im looking at £25 min

I dont even spend that on an outfit for me!!

You should be able to get branded trainers for around a tenner. You don't have to pay £25.

You should still be able to get them cheap.

I think you will struggle to get non brand ones for under £25 to be honest - they do exist but are like gold dust and is much harder once the dcs are in adult sizes.

I just had to shell out £25 for a 'cheap' pair of adidas for my size 4 dd and that was the cheapest option (irrespective of named brands).

I would definitely go for one pair and get him to wash them and dry them every time they're muddy - that's what I do.

TK Maxx often has branded trainers. Last years models though - I cannot tell the difference, though teenage boys may.

My 14yo ds2 goes to TK Maxx for trainers and there are sometimes good deals to be found. Also you could try eBay - we've ordered shoes from Canada before now as even with postage they worked out cheaper than buying here (ds is size 12!!! ) He just needs to have tried on that brand so you know it will fit...
