Concerned about health effects of mobile phones

Hi everyone, I'm looking into buying a mobile phone for my 11 yr old DS for when he starts secondary school. I'm rather alarmed though, about reports I've read saying there are possible negative health effects for children using mobile phones. Does anyone know anything about this or have any suggestions?

There are negative health effects to almost everything in life. 11 is a good age to get them a phone since most children at secondary school will have them, it allows you to stay in contact while they're away and let's them be the same as their peers.
