and I'm the one who is a bag of nerves

I've hardly slept

its only a temporary summer job, before going back to school

honestly, my stomach is churning for him

I hope they are nice to him, I hope he gets a break, I hope they remember to pay him....

honestly, this makes leaving them in nursery a doddle

especially when any advice from me is met with oh mum dont go on4

he's my pfb....you wouldn't have guessed, would you Grin

DS1 did this the week before last. I was an absolute wreck. My PFB going into work. I felt like running in and telling his boss to be nice to him. Grin

I watched the clock all day (9-6 shift) just like his first day in Reception. Blush

Have you done him a nice packed lunch?

Report
ssd · 27/07/2015 09:45

I gave him lunch money, he thought he could go to a place that's about 30 minutes walk away, that's one way....then 30 minutes back, I said you might only get a short lunch break you wont have time for that...he doesn't eat much at lunch, at school he often eats nothing, he has a big breakfast and then a big dinner, I hope he remembers to eat something during the day Grin

how is your boy getting on sb?

Surprisingly well thanks ssd. He has done 5 full days now all spaced out so plenty of time for everything else. He's off now til Friday and Saturday.

I think yesterday I even forgot about him for a bit. Grin

wow! thats great! ds thinks he is working full time till he goes back to school, but we'll see how it pans out....he needs time off but apparently, according to him and dh, I should stop getting involved and telling him what to do...

I think he is supposed to be doing weekends but then if they ring for in the week he can say yes or no IYKWIM.

I know he has been given some stuff to do in preparation for Year 12 but i daren't ask when that's going to be done or I will get 'the face'.

What time is he working to ssd?

till 5, but I start at 4 so wont see him Sad

I hadnt thought of prep for the coming year, ds keeps himself to himself an awful lot and tells me the bare minimum

Aww. It's another milestone. Starting nursery was a piece of cake compared with teenage "firsts".
The hardest bit for me has been when DS1 gets treated badly by his boss. He pays NMW and always rounds the time down. DS does extra stuff that none of the other staff can do and gets nothing for it. He doesn't care as he loves his job Hmm.

I'm glad he loves his job bare, that must mean a lot to him, especially since he hasnt got a great boss.

DS1 went for the email scattergun approach and sent virtually the same one to all local businesses asking if they were hiring. Miraculously, one was and he got the job without them advertising it. I was amazed.

Much excitement. He looked at his bank account and he has been paid. he appears to be in shock. Grin
