DS broke his foot on Wednesday, with his weights. He went to a party regardless at night, but agreed to go to A and E on Thurs, where they said he'd broken a bone.

Yesterday was his American Football tournament, and he insisted on playing. There are supposed to be 20 on each team to cover offence, defence and substitutions but only 6 of his team turned up (the rest on hols) which meant that when one got carted off to hospital, he had to keep playing all day with a broken foot. The other teams kept bringing fresh players on as they were getting tired.

Well, they won all their matches despite only having 9 feet between them and are now top of the league and bound for the Brit Bowl (National Championships)

I'm just so proud of ds for carrying on even though he was in agony, and all the others too, because they get incredibly tired in the heat with all the padding, which is why they're supposed to swap over every few minutes. It's a really brutal game.

He was so happy at the end, haven't seen him smile so much in ages.

The coach gave him man of the match for courage and True Grit.

He's now going to spend the next four days with his foot up, watching DVDs before we fly off to California on Thurs.

Sorry I know this is a boast Blush

He sounds like an amazing boy Mumblechum, hope he enjoys his rest and his holiday and good luck in the National Championships.

would playing not have risked damaging his foot???

The nurse said it would be ok as the football boot kind of forced it to stay in the right position.
