Grease gland

Having been reading about the guineas I gave them a thorough once over and found quite a gritty mass over one of the boars glands. Used grease remover and gave him his first bath however the fur still felt hard after. is this the actual gland or does it require a more thorough wash and degrease? ?

You might need to give it another clean to get it all out. Only one of our boars had an obvious grease gland (like a tail at one point) he was the most "boary".

Some sites recommend Swarfega but I'd worry about them licking it.
I used to apply neat Just For Boars shampoo and rub a bit then rinse (GP1 used to purr appreciatively Grin )

The actual grease gland on him felt like a bony spine bit. GP2 and GP3 didn't have them to the same extent.

Thanks for your reply :) luckily the greasy pig liked the bath alot more than his friend! I do have swarfega orange scented so could try that.
