Small pets

Hamster cage that they can't chew through.

We have an 8 month old Syrian Hamster who has just eaten his way out of his cage. We've heard him chewing now and again but he managed to make quite a hole and we caught him scuttling across the top of the amp followed closely by one of our cats!
We have him in a safe, secure cage atm but it's too small for him.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
This is the last one we bought.

Now that's a great idea! Why didn't I think of that myself?

We've always had hamster heavens and our hamsters have never managed to chew through them. Although excessive chewing the cage is a sign of boredom, and in these cages the hamsters are more likely to chew the things in it, than the cage itself. The cage almost meets RSPCA guidelines.

Look on Zooplus for a good price and put some wood stuff in there.

It was because we had cats that I got the glass one. Its very sturdy and looks really good too.

That looks a lot like our old one. We have lots of wood and woven stuff in there. Our previous hamster didn't chew through it but this one is a regular houdini!

The cage your hamster's chewed through is the one I'd finally decided would be best if/when we get a hamster! Did he chew through the plastic bottom part - is it generally not very robust?

He got his teeth into the ridge in the plastic.
Our old Hamster didn't make a dent in it, so it may just be that we have a super chewer.
My DD saw this cage and fell in love with it, so we bought it , it looks hopeful as it has wire in front of the plastic tray and it's fun to watch him in.

Hi OP. Just wondering how your hamster's getting on in the IMac Fantasy cage? Have read reviews that they can escape from the lids in the top? We're getting closer to actually purchasing a hamster, so I need to get on with deciding about the cage!
