Have googled but can only find that the ideal weight for an adult male is between 900 - 1200g. Surely this would vary with breed?

YY it does indeed.

As you know Fernie my boar , the lovely Dill is a Rex. (big chap)
At the last weigh-in was 1357g (he lost 2oz / 50g when he was bonded but put it back on)

Trinity (large smooth) 1166g ( in July she was 855g)

Oreo (teeny smooth) 913g ( in July she was 688g)

This is their Winter Fat 'Fighting Weight' Grin

When we had the original boars, we really worked to keep winter weight on GP2 (little Abby) He never went 'skinny' but he didn't find it easy to gain weight.
One of the most noticeable things about GP1 was his change of shape in his last few weeks, though that was high summer. He got more bony round his hips and face , though he ate loads .

Our gp1 is about 10 months old now and 1150g. Gp3 is now around 13 weeks old and is 430g. He was 320g 3 weeks ago so safe to say that he is eating well ??
Gp1 does seem huge compared to gp3 but at least I know he's within a healthy weight!!
