help please going to a smart ball dress code 'long dresses'.....

so, these are all I have found so far and wondering what you thought - I am size 8 on top prob 8-10 on bottom and in my head I want a fairly slinky dress not a 'ballgown' as such, maybe a maxi dress but not cotton maybe silk? dont want to spend a fortune may consider if could double up for a wedding somehow?

Absolutely love the Ted Baker one but not sure it is right for a ball if you know what I mean.

The Coast one is lovely but be careful, the last ball I went to there were about 10 ladies in Coast dresses!

The one from Warehouse is gorgeous and would look lovely at a ball with the right shoes/jewellery etc.

well, ball may be bigging it up a little! Its black tie but end of school thing and we are staff - I think its long to stop the school leavers wearing belts/shortest dresses possible!
