Lovely dress at...Wallis

For reasons that are not quite clear, I'm on the Wallis email newsletter list.

Anyway, usually I never even look at the flurry of polyester that they think I might like to order, but this week's theme was maxi-dresses so I thought I'd have a gander, and, lo this caught my eye. Pretty as a picture, in silk not poly.

Not bad, eh?

I see yours and raise you this lime one

I think a maxi needs a bit of oomph.

I thought wallis did a one shouldered one which looked lovely, in black. mebbe got mixed up with somewhere else.

Plum that is gorgeous.

Cyb - pretty but 100% polyester. Honestly what is it with polyester - so many summer dresses are made of it this year - is it a conspiracy to get people to buy more deodorant or something?

I was drawn into my local Wallis a few weeks back - always thought It was a bot too 'old' for me and was pleasantly surprised!

that is so lovely. And much less expensive than lots of the 100% poly ones I've seen!

Not really sure that the aintree ladies who did get their legs out looked too good either, tbh!

Though agree the look you should be after is less this and more this

I actually quite like Wallis, they do some nice 'fashion' type bits that are really cheap and some lovely knitwear. And I am only 30, and not too much of an old fogey just yet (honest). They do a lot of ugly things too, but really I think probably 50% of their stuff is quite wearable.

I'm not fond of maxi dresses but, as far as they go, the cream one isn't bad and would at least feel nice to wear in silk. The lime polyester thing is monstrous imho. Sorry!

tracey how kind of you to ask! yes I ahve shoes. Black cagey ones. No bag (cant be bothered) Need spanx and leg tan, or seamless control top footless tights. Cant decide which

Get a spray tan - I love them but then I have seriously wag like tendencies .

Plum - Some of those (actually, pretty much all of those) Aintree pictures are just awful!! I'm almost lost for words.....

There were several of these dresses on eBay the other day I think. Or a very similar Wallis maxi anyway.

I am another one with polyester issues. It's the material of the future though apparently. Lady Mitcham all the way for me then.

I was drawn into my local Wallis a few weeks back after seeing a green maxi in the window, I must say the fabric is lovely and much less expensive then lots of the other ones I have seen
