OK it's that black tie event again (a year goes so fast) I need serious help choosing a dress

So, I do this each year - attend the same black tie function only this year we are away on holiday for most of May, so I need to get the dress by the end of April....I know that sounds like ages to get it, but with the shoes and accessories and being with 2 little girls all the time, I do not get the time I would like for shopping.

This year I am thinking either knee length or long (previously I have gone down the short length route and feel like a change...)

Colour-wise, I have no idea. Saw this on ebay and really like it, but it is such a risk to buy that if it is not a good fit

here

So, about me:
5'7
size 8/10
Pale skin but may tan after holiday and if not, will be having spray tan...
good boobs - 30Eish (but bra-less? No, definately not)
bit of a tummy, but not too bad (no stretch ateen though...)
Budget-wise, £500ish.
Oh and I am 32.

I have a quick online look - especially net-a-porter but there are so many and in the end I just close the browser and sigh!

Thankyou,
J&G

I had never thought of renting a dress and that is a good idea. Has anyone ever done this? Did it work out better then buying one?

Gold-dress-wise, I still do love that Gucci one and know I could sell it afterwards too for a good price. I have requested the measurements from the seller and if I am sure I can zip it up [doubtful emoticon] then I may just order it!

Thanks for all your replies ladies
