Style and beauty

White Company cape, Jigsaw dress, Jigsaw coat or (dare I?) all three..?

Which would get your vote? I was really looking for an 'outer' layer but while browsing also found the 'military dress' on Jigsaw website which I also really like.

Here they are:

Military Dress

Merino Patch Pocket Coat

White Company Cape (am somewhat put off by the URL ending in Cacky but that's unfortunate)

I like the cape, not so keen on the others, which is odd as I am generally a jigsaw fan

Dress and coat - no cape. The coat is lovely.

Dress and coat are very dull. Cape less dull but still dull (especially for the price)

But the dress and coat with deep purple tights, or grey cable knit tights and fab shoes and bag would be yummy.

Cape is foul.

Dress is nice.

Coat is fantastic.

I was trying to work out which colour tights they'd used with the dress in the pics, I agree navy / aubergine would be good.

I like this bag too. After several years of feeling 'meh' about Jigsaw, it is once again dangerously alluring.

The cape wouldn't be warm really would it? Short-sleeved.

Mrs Sb..the military dress looks like a black cord shirt dress which doesn't look great on the model (who clearly needs the toilet..and at 145 smackers is ridiculously priced

The coat is nice, would last a long time style wise but runs the risk of looking a little clergy-tastic

Don't like cape, sorry.

I love the coat, think the dress is nice but overpriced, and don't like the cape. Looks like something from Next.

Get the coat!

is this Grannies 'R' us?

the dress and the coat are exactly the same - and as dull as anything i have ever seen.

my dead nanna was buried in better than the 'cacky' cardi. urgh!

Like the coat best although the dress could look good with decent accesories.the cape is very dull for the money

Coat gets my vote. It will be versatile- you can accessorise many ways.

I like the idea of the cape but i fear that the reality wouldn't live up to the ideal. IYSWIM. I think it's possible to get more beautiful capey things elsewhere (and the buttons remind me of the buttons on my posh cycling poncho).

dress is "meh". You can do better.

I like the little frayed edges on the pockets and hem of the dress and the coat looks fine too. I'd say inoffensive rather than boring.

Love the bag!

Have gone right off the cape now at the mention of Next.
I am torn between the dress and the coat, I think both would be really good basics, although they might seem boring I think that would equal long wear and lots of accessorising opportunities, non?

possibly

dress and coat could look frumpy unless youthful whippet slim and arty type rocking a retro vibe. but that could be you.

they are not "classic" just plain

I've never discovered what type I am. When I was younger I looked a bit like a shorter version of Claudia Schiffer. Now I am middle aged I'm not sure what I am really. Any ideas on how to find out would be gratefully received.

dress - is stupidly dull and expensive
coat - looks like something on remainder in hobbs

Dress is nice especially with those tights - but abit £££.
Coat more like a cardi and not vsubstantial.
Cape can be found anywhere on high street for a fraction of price..
But then if you look like a shorter version of Claudia Schiffer it could all look good!

Bonsoir · 16/11/2009 18:26

It's all very dark and plain. If I were going to spend that much, I would want something a bit more colourful, elegant and glamorous...

Report
Bonsoir · 16/11/2009 18:33

OK, so that lot adds up to £460.

For under £460 you could have Aubin and Wills Cape, which can be classic or very funky, as an outer layer.
