And it is so beautiful, I just want to go an live in it. Did see the autumn stock at the Bath shop yesterday and there are some really lovely things, especially the moleskin funnel necked coat, the silk tunics and the fabulous pink knitwear - it makes Boden look cheap and gaudy - I know it is a bit more expensive but there is always the sale. In the meantime DH is in love with the smell of the catalogue and keeps sniffing it, always thought there was something funny about him.

Don't do it.
The caalogue seduces you into thinking you willl llok fabulous in a reconditioned feedsack and a pair of ruinously expensive and needlessly complicated boots fashioned from old tyres.

You won't, believe me.

Also, nowt fetching about clothes in 30 hues of turd brown.

Moondog - you are very bad!! Thankfully I think I'll remember that next time I find myself passing a Toast shop - and will fight the urge to go and spend money I cannot afford!

Maybe I'll print it out and tape it to my credit card.

B*ggerhelldamn. My hands spontaneously googled the website.

Clearly, will have to paste the Moondog quote over the keyboard ... .

Not Turd coloured, Moondog - Purest magenta, the most fantastic deep deep petrol gren/blue, and the silk tunics are magenta and sea green and a forest green with bits of orange - but not gaudy, like a fun tank top. Now I am not usually seduced by the catalogue because in the past when things have arrived they have ben a bit boring, but this time I have seen the pristine new stock in the flesh, in the shop, and if it were not for the fact that I'm a size 14 and will only buy size 10 or 12 I would have been totally seduced - but come the sale I will be totally losing my inhibitions, even if Ihave to buy size 18 to get into it! I implore you not to buy any other moleskin coate til you have had a look at the Toast one ( Yellow, Aubergine or dark grey)

I got the catalogue this morning and have to say, I mostly agree with moondog
I did like a couple of the jumper dresses but will have to wait for the sale - a bit too ££ at the moment!

Try as I might, I cannot get into Toast. I saw them around yonks ago when they did very odd bohemian stuff- it's changed, but still frumpy imo and way too expensive. They are really a nicke market and trade on a certain image- jst can't quite work out what though.

Why is it stuff in the catalogue looks nice, but when you find the item on the website it looks total shite?

Sorry, did not find anything I would buy, and sorry didn't like the funnel neck coat (but that's just me, I am not a fan of non-tailored coats!)

Oh dear, never looked at Toast but Moondog's description actually sounds quite beguiling - turd colours suit me

iirc i started a thread just like this once. and i was told the same. probably by moony herself
but i was undetterred and went ahead and ordered a few things anyway.
and 'dyou know? moonys right.
beautifully tailored and cut shirt... which makes me look like a hot air balloon, and a soft washed out looking green wool tank top which...makes me look like a cushion.
i do love the catalogue tho.
and the hammam towels are lush imo (and tres practical for travel donchaknow)
hth
