Hair Dye Disaster- Please Help!

I have just attempted to touch up my roots with 'natural extra light ash blonde'. I normally use 'summer blonde' but wanted to try go gradually darker, and looking at the box, thats what I thought would happen.

Instead, my hair has turned grey! It looks awful, and they should have put a model with grey hair on the front of the box as it certainly looks nothing like what she does!

Anyway, I just wondered if anybody knew when I would be safe to colour again? I have read that a 'golden blonde' shade should counteract the greyness.

Any help would be great!

Head and Shoulders might help strip the worst out of it? Or give in and go to salon to be fixed...
