Any recommendations for a freshwater pearl necklace and earrings or bracelet?

My darling dad has offered to buy me jewellery for my birthday, and I'd love to invest in a pearl necklace and perhaps a bracelet or earrings with a budget of around £100 or slightly over.

Any recommendations ladies? I like the look of mixed colour ones, perhaps with cranberry pearls - but would I be better going for a classic pearl-coloured set perhaps?

I'm late 40s, but work in a young environment and try to stay fashionable.

I'll probably buy online.

Tia

Just doing some browsing - what do you think of this?

Or would a classic white or pink colour be a better long-term bet?

I like purple freshwater pearls like those in the link, though am not that fond of crystal.

I think white pearls can look a bit old lady-ish, unless you dress is quite a 50s/Madmen kind of way, in which case they would look edgy.

Do you have to buy online? I always like to see jewellery and feel it in my hands before buying.

Thanks - no I don't have to buy online, and in fact after an hour or so of browsing online I've decided to go proper shopping try some on.

I did wonder if white ones would look a bit dated - probably fine on 16-y-o dd but not so great on me maybe.

I have a very very long string of white ones, that I wear looped twice to create two long lengths of beads - looks very Chanel, and fabulous for black tie (I sometimes wear them just long with tea dresses, and this looks really vintage)

i'm not sure about the first link, i think it is looser than a choker, but dont take my word for it! The organza ones are long and can go round the wrist or the neck, they look lovely either way, i have bought them for a few people and i have friends who wear them. You should call one of the stores they are v friendly

Thanks again lou. They both sound ideal tbh. I'm not after a choker style and wanted it looser...the ones with organza look lovely as well...Hmmm..off to find my bank card..
