What's trendy?

Hi!
My nieces will be nine in a week or so and have requested (amongst other things!) 'trendy clothes'. I've got a feeling that whatever I might consider would fall short of the mark!
Any help gratefully received - brands, shops, websites etc...

How trendy are they? Most of the 9ish girls I know would find stuff at M&S, Zara, H&M, Primark, Matalan, etc trendy.

Well, other items on the list included Ugg Boots and mobile phones Not sure that M&S will cut it but H&M and Zara might be the ticket!

Short denim skirts, leggings under the skirt, cool top.
Gap is a good bet, or Fat Face

Miniture American Apparel style things I think. Bright footless tights under baggy shorts and layered t-shirts. Little pumps. Skinny jeans.

My niece often wants me to buy her, her clothes. I am younger than her Mum so she thinks I am more 'with it'. Little does she know - her Mum is so so much cooler than me!!!

Anyway - I find Gap is always the ticket! The sales assistance always see my dithering and confused and are really very helpful in getting it 'just right'. I try to go for trendy but practical - like lots of nine year olds she is a massive tree climber so we can't do anything too 'just walked off of a Vogue fashion shoot' but gap gives it a hint of 'oh, daaaarling, it is just a little something I threw on!!' which makes her stand out from her five brothers! Ha ha ha
