Long, black, puffy coat - where can I get one?

I'm looking for a long black puffy coat and am really struggling to find any. I know they're out there because loads of people are wearing them, but can't find any and don't have time to shop anymore. I'd prefer if there's somewhere online but any recommendations would be really appreciated!

M&S, I saw a nice one there this morning. I bought a more expensive one from landsend, and believe me, when it's so fuckngi fereeeezngi it hurts to breath in,you'll be glad you are wearing a puffy coat. Get a goose down one if possible. I am LESS afraid to go outside now!!

Approach with caution. I had one from Next many moons ago and it shed its feather filling all over me.

Wow - thanks for the helpful responses. Looks like Lands End is the best option - I agree with you LAL, I don't care what I look like right now. I just need to be warmer!

I have a lovely plaid belted coat for when it's just ordinary cold and then, when it's brassmonkies cold, out comes the duvet coat. (i got it in navy and I don't feel like a bag lady in it.) I wouldn't wear it to a job interview or a wedding, but I don't feel like the scruffiest mum by any means!

Ooh Widgypog what size is it and does it have a hood?

Report
widgypog · 06/01/2009 18:03

yes it has a hood..with detatchable fluffy collar and it is a medium which I would say is 12-14..really lovely coat but I have lost weight so I bought one in per una at the weekend

Hi widgypog. I saw a nice one in Gap but it gathered in at the bottom at looked a bit random on me. Is that the one? Or is it loose at the bottom?

loose at bottom..i can do a pic if u think it will fit

A pic would be great thanks. The coat I tried on in Gap at the weekend was a large and it was too big for me so I think a medium would be about right. How much are you after for it?

hi..I will try and do pics later.. I am rather attached to the coat as my mum bought it for me and it really is lovely but realisticlly I know it is too big now as I know when I was a 12-14 it was fitted round my curves and now it just kind of hangs. I would have it professionally washed before I sold it (although it isn't dirty) and was going to put it on ebay and local ads for £50 but would accept £40 posted to a mumsnetter. Let me know what you think. widg x

I bought this from Cotton Traders for express purpose of watching DS1 play football cos it's soo effing cold. I'm not pretending it's stylish or attractive but it's £20 in their sale and very warm!

Thank you!
