Best Boots?

I am going away overnight for quite an important work meeting. Need to wear something smart ie trousers and nice top that is comfortable to travel in. Am then going out for dinner, thinking of wearing nice wrap dress. Want to come home next day in jeans, but limited space in overnight bag so I thought as my boots are falling off my feet I could get some that would go with everything. Any ideas? I don't want to wear something that I think looks ok if it doesn't!!

Long black boots got under jeans, with wrap dresses and under trousers.Suede would be more comfy if wearing all day and possible a kitten heel?
