Help! I'm out of my mascara depth....

It's my beautiful friends birthday in two weeks. She is very into her make up.... I'm planning on getting her a mascara gift set to go with her main present.... I usually buy her no7 products but want to get her something a bit more special and something she wouldnt usually buy herself. I'm stuck between ysl and lancome.... not being a make up wearer myself I have no clue about these things!

My current favourite is Smashbox full exposure. Defines rather than volumises and stays put

Lancôme Hypnose definitely. If they didn't test on animals it'd be the only one I'd buy.
