I've just left my job as relocating to another country. Colleagues have very generously given me £250 John Lewis gift card as a leaving present, and I'd like to get something that I use all the time. I'm thinking possibly a watch, but have no idea where to start! My current watch is a Citizen and strictly functional. (A fountain pen would have been another possibility, but I already have one I like.)

Any ideas? I like leather straps and plain design, and it has to be available from JL!

For that budget I would look at Tissot.

Are they any good? Had a quick look online and the designs are attractive, but I want something that will last /not lose time / not drive me nuts.
