I know the short hair threads crop up time and time again but humour me !
short hair on a very square over 45 face?
fine straight but some wave
good idea or bad
chemically over processed my hair for years now and it just hangs and masses of split ends

I have very short hair and I'm 50 but my face is oval
If you google "short hair styles" you'll get a photo of Jennifer Goodwin (I think thats her name) she has a square face and strong jawline.

Why not get rid of the ends, use intensive moisture masks and then decide.
Because I bet you someone will come on and say "Its only hair it grows back" but it can be a 'mare. My hair is wavy , I don't get beyong 5 weeks without looking a scruffbag

Im 47 and have a pixie cut. Someone will be along to say how aging short hair is, but I look younger with short hair.
There's loads of short styles nowadays, look on Pinterest.

I'm 36 and I've a pixie. I get compliments on it often.

I started with a round face, lost 4 stone and now it's angular with a pointed chin. Works on both faces!!

I'd never go back to long.

I'm pretty sure my current style if you can call it that, is ageing. it's longer than shoulder length and straggly .

I think you need to answer yes to the following:

Are you the sort of person that is prepared to style your hair in the morning? Short hair needs taming in the morning.

Have you got the time and money for regular trims?

Do you like your ears and jaw line?

Do you admire short hair on other people?

I think if you're fed up with your hair and have given it some thought (and got lots of yesses on my made up questionnaire ) then go for it.

Congratulations, you have scored enough on my questionnaire to book your haircut. I say go for it. I think it will be liberating.

Short hair can be versatile. I have a friend that regularly changes the colour of her short crop, she's had it highlighted, bleached platinum blonde and now has a pale pink. I always admire it and I think she can get away with all the chemicals because it's so short.
