What do I wear?

My husband brings me to his work Christmas party. This year, it will be in an amusement park. It will be summer here.

No kids so I don't have to worry about kids' outfits.

Is it a very dressed up occasion? I'd be thinking of wearing jeans and a cool top.

In the past they held it in a zoo, in a boathouse, but most of the women were in dresses.

I'm thinking of jeans but just afraid of boiling under the strong Australian summer sun. Are shorts ok?

No way would I wear jeans at Christmas time - far too warm. I'd do shorts and a cute top, or a short dress.

I would go for a dress with some cotton bike shorts underneath.

Why the bike shorts? Just wear a dress or shorts.

This would be the sort of thing I'd wear. Casual for an amusement park (I presume Luna Park or similar), but still smart enough for socialising with work colleagues.

Bike shorts to help with stupidly hot legs sticking together and any whirling about form going upside down on rides.

What is the format for the day? Is there a meal/reception of some sort or are you just going on rides? Is it day ir evening?

How about a play suit? This one is from Asos.
(That's a lot of questions Grin, sorry)

Nothing concrete yet but in the past there's lunch, then a program with games for the kids.

A hat and sunscreen, followed by a short dress with as little material as possible. I hope it's not adventure world you're going to lol

Forever New

Also, I'd need a cover up for dresses as I don't show arms.

I think the Forever New and the pink dress are made of cotton. The polkadot skirt and dress are made of an airy fabric - not sure what.

I like the last dress best.
I must make it so much harder to cope with the heat if you don't ever show arms.

The forever new dress is great.

bunishedsilver I try to have my arms covered all summer and tend to find it cooler. Being burnt sucks
