What do I wear to a wedding reception at my age?!

It's just suddenly hit me that I will need to sort out appropriate clothes to go to a wedding in 3 weeks' time, and I have absolutely no idea what I should be wearing - I don't get out much! Am only going to the evening, and it's the first smart event I've been too since separating from STBXH 2 years ago, so lacking in confidence a bit.

I have smart work clothes, functional mummy clothes and walking stuff, none of which will do. Work people are going so can't wear any of my work dresses, which are a bit formal anyway.

Any suggestions as to what I might wear would be gratefully received. Am mid-forties, about a size 12, and 5'6. I had my colours done a few years ago and am an Autumn in colouring. (And my chest is no longer where it started out, so would need to wear a bra - so nothing strapless).

That is a gorgeous dress! I think it wants silver/pewter/pale gold (well something metallic anyway) sandals and bag to go with it.

Possibly some chunky stacked bracelets, also in pewter/silver/gold to match, and a fab up-do?

Thank you - I've ordered it!

Only have gold accessories, will pray for warm weather as clearly must not wear a pashmina 😄

Now just need shoes and bag (assuming dress looks ok on - if not then I'll be back in a panic!!)
