If you were eloping and wanted to look beautiful but not to wear a wedding dress, what would you wear?

DS1 has been granted a make a wish week in Florida for Christmas. He (and our other children) are always going on about me and DP getting married so we thought we'd do it while we're there.
I don't want to wear a wedding dress but I do want to look lovely.
I'm 5ft, size 10 and I have gigantic boobs.
I have a tiny waist but big hips Nd bust.
I tried a Lindy bop Ophelia dress and looked like a sack of spuds, I once wore a lindybop wrap dress with a petticoat to my sisters wedding and felt beautiful but I want something different for this.

What a lovely idea to get married while you're in Florida!

If I wasn't going for a full on wedding dress, I think I'd be tempted to go for a tea dress of some kind, which sounds like it might be your kind of thing if you like Lindy Bop stuff.

You can get tea length/ style wedding dresses too which look so cute, so if you didn't want a full on wedding dress but wanted something that felt more wedding-y than a dress you'd wear for another occasion, would this be an option? I've tried a few on in the past and they are lovely... I'm not nearly as tall as you and can have trouble finding things that fit over my hips and boobs but aren't massive around my waist, but these have fitted really well.

That dress is gorgeous but if your 5ft it might come up too long? I struggle with that with some ladyv dresses and Lindy bop.
Joy louche so gorgeous dresses but they don't always leave enough room for boobs!

I can just get away with the lady v tea dress on length ladyvlondon.com/1950s-Style-Ivory-Wedding-Tea-Dress/#.V7cnw8R4XCQ

I shall be wearing this one... www.blonde-and-wise.co.uk/products/ivory-trench-dress

Probably with a leather jacket slung over the top :) Available in lots of colours/fabrics and they will also do one made to measure if you need it.

Lovely dresses on that site Renarde!

I will be wearing a white cotton sundress when we elope next month :)

Op have you checked out the wedding dresses in Debenhams in Monsoon? I know you said you don't fancy a wedding dress but it would definitely be worth trying things on to get an idea of what suits you. I did plan on not wearing a wedding dress but after trying some on, I'm so glad I did.

What a lovely thing to do as I realise that to have a "make a wish trip" is some thing very special X
