TIA Smile

I am going indulge in a bottle at the airport. Of perfume. Not gin. Or maybe both...

I am a Tom Ford girl usually, and have 4 or 5 of his perfumes that I alternate. With Azure Lime being my favourite. His fragrances are quite 'masculine', for want of a better word. I like how very different the scents are from standard.

I've posted on perfume lovers, but not much traffic, and I am happy to be guided in a different direction.

It depends which airport and which terminal what will be available. Assuming it's a big international airport like LHR with lots of business flights, you may find yourselves enticed by ranges you don't get in the UK High St, such as the Chanel Exclusifs and the Hermessence range, as well as many many more. Sadly provincial airports and even Gatwick don't have the really exclusive upmarket lines.

It's Manchester, T2, if that helps?

Have a sniff of Miller Harris Vetiver Insolent.

Not sure what your Tom Ford smells like but this is spiced chypre. Nothing like any of the candy flowers around at the moment.

Elie Saab Le Parfume is such a gorgeous smell. Lasts really well whilst wearing. My absolute favourite perfume!

When I flew from Manchester 2 weeks ago prices were no different to in a normal shop, in fact my favourite was actually cheaper online at the time as it was on offer at boots. Also couldn't buy any alcohol/tobacco as we were travelling within the EU, does anyone know the reason behind this?

What cresst suggested.

I have to say I have never tried any Tom Ford, but there's a world of joy out there waiting. I like the Dior Escale a Portofino and Escale a Parati. I also love the little collection sets that are often exclusive to Duty Free i.e Lancome Mini and Estee Lauder mini. Also try any Guerlains if you can. I love Shalimar and Insolence, but they are all good.

I must say though, I don't think Duty Free is remotely cheaper than the High Street these days. I found it eye watering. However, it's a great chance to try the really good testers and then buy it much, much cheaper online (allbeauty.com is excellent)

Smile Thank you.

I adore my Tom Ford, his fragrances seem to entirely different to anything else. I wear one of his most days into the office, the males I work with ask if I am wearing aftershave if that helps, particularly with one that is called Venetian Bergamot. However, not cheap at circa £140 a bottle. Entirely DH's fault for buying me my first while travelling on business...

I do see the perfume sets on sale in duty free and wonder if they represent good value? Do they? They look like a great way of 'testing' a number of scents.

I'm ok with it not being cheaper, it's an opportunity to test and try I rarely get.

I have a minimal make up regime, but never leave the house without wearing perfume.

This is really interesting, I am going to note down the suggestions, thank you.
