Bumping - I'm also dry, fluffy and frizzy. Sad
I've tried so many products, but they either don't touch it, or weigh it down!

I had really dry frizzy hair due to medication / long term illness . I use bio agave oil , shampoo and conditioner from birchbox - the only uk stockists and finally my hair is on the mend .

Hair into a low pony and loads of serum below the hairband last thing at night helps me with the dry straw thing. And I use an intense conditioner every time to help with shine. I use straighteners to help get it shiny too.

I colour mine due to grey and it is always so sleek and glossy straight after. I know it's probably cos it's so damaging really but I love that first few days of sleekness.

Long or short? Fine or wiry?

For the wiry wavy sort, Lush Avocado Co-wash is lovely.

A little bit of coconut oil at night and I'm the morning between washes sorts my hair out. You don't need much at all.

I've recently been using a hair cc cream from Holland and Barratt called Naturtint. It's very good and doesn't weigh my hair down (I only came across it because there a free sachet of it in the hair dye)

Is your hair dyed? If so what colour?

I'm a bottle blonde with super dry hair and the only thing that sorts it is..

Only wash your hair twice a week

Only shampoo the roots

Only condition the ends

Buy a tangle tease brush- prevents damage and breakage which in turn makes it look better

Buy a brush with natural bristles- encourages natural oils down from the scalp to the ends of the hair

DO NOT BLOW DRY YOUR HAIR!!! Straighten/style it once it's dried naturally

Use a good serum. I love loreal smooth it. Gross ease does naff all

Don't use hair elastics- use the plastic twisty ones. You can get them in Primark. Again they lessen damage

Shampoo and conditioner depends on whether your hair is dyed etc

My hair is dyed
It has always been like terrier dog hair - very porous looking and a lot of hair .

Serum
Moroccan oil etc all seem to make it just look greasy or dirty
It's ok after a wash but in between washes it looks dirty and tired by using a serum and I need to reduce washing it so it doesn't seem to help ...
There is no shine to it at all - are shine sprays good ?

If it's making your hair look greasy you're putting way too much on your hair. My hair is past my shoulders and I only use a 10p size bit of serum and you only use it on the last 4"-6".

Over washing will make it drier tho. It will take a week or 2 for your hair to get used to it.

I have hair like yours and a very large collection of hats Wink

Tiny bit of coconut oil or loads of coconut oil left on overnight before washing. Only wash it twice a week.

Hello, I have dry, frizzy, coarse hair and lots of it and to add insult to injury my hair is white. I do have a have a mixture of blonde and brown foils run through it. We are going to Disney in Florida and I am dreading the frizzy hair when we get there. I did start another thread on here and people suggested getting a straightening treatment but I don't want to do that at the moment. So any advice on products that work would be great. It is so much better since GHD's but my hair could behave better!

I use Schwarzkopf hair repair shampoo and conditioner, a bit pricey as from a salon stockists but does really help, like someone above I also swear by coconut oil. Can use as a leave in overnight (then wash out!) and/or as a serum.
The only thing that has really worked wonders is a Brazillian blow dry. It's a bit pricey, mine cost £75 but it basically infuses your hair with keratin (so it's good for your hair, not damaging) and lasts about 12 weeks. It was a total miracle. I've NEVER been able to just blast dry my hair before, and when I did it after the treatment it looked like it normally does when I straighten it! Sooooo worth the money.

I've got fine, fluff- and frizz-prone hair and Phytodefrisant is working pretty well atm, and is silicone free which helps with the dryness ime. You must apply it to wet hair rather than towel-dried though for it to work properly.

I've been using coconut oil as a smoother and a deep conditioner.

I've stopped using silicone and sulphate shampoo, body shop rainforest is great, just condition with deep conditioner once a week and haven't blow dried in 6 months
