Tapered trousers for a short person.

Does any one have any suggestions please?

I'm looking for some tapered trousers, either cropped or full length. I would even compromise for a smart pair of chinos as an alternative.

I'm 5ft and a size 8 (needs toning up). I've tried ASOS, Next, DP, Oasis, French Connection, I'm stuck. It's the 5ft issue rather than the size of me

Navy ideally, or a plum colour, grey?

Next petite jeans fit me perfectly if that helps, round the waist and hip.
