Where to buy colourful, patterned waterproof children's raincoats?

Everything I see for the DCs these days is very strictly gendered - machines and dinosaurs for boys in sludgy colours, butterflies, flowers and ponies in nauseating shades of pink and purple for the girls.

Neither DC wants plain coloured raincoats (believe me I've tried) but nothing is quite what they want. I'd just like to find some fun, more gender-neutral patterned raincoats that keep them warm and dry, but it seems like such rare thing atm.

Any idea? TIA.

Have you tried TK Maxx? My local ones have had some in for a while with lots of fun patterns on. Not sure what the brand is but I've had my eye on a green one with a toadstool print for dd.

The Independent did an article on children's raincoats and you can access this online. They did have great suggestions but some were expensive.

Polarn o Pyret? They do unisex clothing:

Lands end have some patterned ones:

Some good options here too - Scandinavian brands tend to be less gender specific I find:

Hatley have some in their boys section that my girls would wear (and some of their girl's ones aren't too offensive) - www.hatley.com/en_uk/boys/rainwear/raincoats.html

POP are unisex but I always think they are a bit "boy" - www.polarnopyret.co.uk/all/polarnopyret-raincoat-wellies

I like bright yellow raincoats for both boys and girls and big rainbow stripes. Haven't come across either for a while!

Thanks everyone - sorry for absence, kids were... interesting yesterday.

I think I'm like RNBrie in that I like rainbow colours but can't find anything suitable at the moment - I prefer the fisherman style coats, but that limits us a bit.

I really like a Boden one that's out of stock in DD's size right now, but am now hopeful that we'll find something good soon. M&S might be the one with an orange/yellow coat with a fruit pattern, but I need to see it in RL. Fingers crossed!
