Spring coat help please

Help please, I need a coat or jacket - something that's more stylish than a walking waterproof type, but functional enough to stop me getting soaked or frozen on the school run.

I'm in Scotland, so it's wet, often. Cold still too, but I can layer up. I really need a hood as I'm pushing a buggy 99% of the time. I don't like mumsy coats - looked at Joules but the only ones I like are their blazers, which don't fit the bill.

I think I need a nice lightweight parka, can anybody recommend one, preferably not in khaki? TIA
