Before I shell out my hard-earned wonga on that eye-lash growing stuff...

Does it work??

Recently my left bottom lashes are breaking or not growing properly or bloody something - I'm getting gaps - so y'know, emergency measures are called for.

Is Rivitalash the best? Any other recommendations? Or save my money and suck up the lack of eyelashes?

I had a fairly involved discussion about this once in a pharmacy with a woman who said she had to stop using hers (she was using a high street brand) because her lashes were getting so long it was weird! (I was in a place where chatting to random people in a shop is completely normal. 😄 )

Anyway, a high street brand worked for her, I forget which one but got the impression that any would work. I use eye makeup remover which says it does the same thing and it works for me although not as well (it takes off my eye makeup excellently which is why I bought it!) so I think, yes, go for it. I generally check things out on MakeupAlley too.

I'm getting some good results with castor oil applied at night. I've been doing it for about two weeks, and mostly forgetting every other night so not even using it really regularly.

Thanks Mental. I don't have castor oil but I do have a ginormous bucket of coconut oil. Sitting all unloved on a shelf. I wonder would that do?

Hmm I'm not sure, I've only ever heard of castor oil making hair grow thicker/darker/etc. I can't imagine it would hurt to try the coconut oil, so you could see what happens.

i have had mixed results. In fact if you google the revitalash thing you get a link to a thread on here where I used it. First time was amazing - really long, lasses bumping, but it does take weeks to work. Second time not so good, someone said the formula had changed in the mean time which wouldn't surprise me

My sister used it after chemo and it really helped her lashes and eyebrows to grow back really well. Revitalash I think.

There was a recent thread about this. There's a product that is actually for glaucoma but it really does make your eyelashes grow! However one of the side effects is that it can change the colour of your eyesShock

I have pale blue eyes so decided against it but may be worth checking out. Sorry I can't remember what it was called...

My sister uses Revitalash and has had good results - if you buy it from QVC you get a 30 day money back guarantee so can return it if it's crap.

I've used a few and Rapidlash is the only one that works. Takes a few weeks but so worth it. I am constantly asked if I'm wearing falsies. BTW it doesn't actually make lashes grow, it conditions them so they don't break and therefore grow to their full length 'potential'.

The stuff for glaucoma is called Lumigan, I've been using it for years and constantly asked where I get my lashes done. Works fan, light blue eyes, colour never changed. I'm just careful to put it into my lashes and not in my eye

Latisse is the only one that actually makes your lashes grow and you're looking at around £100 and that's if you can get it in the UK. All any of the others can do is condition your lashes, as Choc said, so don't bother with the pricier ones.

Interesting about Latisse. Sounds like great results. While I would love thick long lashes (as I peer through my fair, fine, short ones), I'm not sure about going down a medication route.

No side effects, missapples?

Talusin, no it isn't. lumigan is a prescription only medicine that is proven to make the lashes grow. And j purchase for £45 and lasts me abit 3/4 months.

Lumigan = Latisse = 0.03% (or something like that) bimatoprost. Latisse is the brand name, lumigan is generic...identical.

Lumigan is not prescription everywhere. I get it with no script for about 7 pounds GBP.
