Has anyone got Marc boots? The Massa style?

I tried some on in a shop a while ago and they felt ok but I didn't buy them. Then they dropped in price on amazon and I ordered them. They've turned up and they seem to have a massive ridge half way up the back of the heel. It's the design of the boot as there's two different types/bits of leather which are stitched together here horizontally.

Was just wondering if anyone had these boots and found that either they rubbed, or that the ridge softened up and was ok? Not sure whether to return them or not.
