What can I do with my shoulder length fine hair

A bob or short style is out as it won't hold a shape no matter what I use on it (think ends sticking out in every direction)
At the moment I am clipping it in a pleat. Every fucking day. Smart but I look like miss haversham Blush
I want to look less secretary more sexy
I've got the day off. I have money. Big hair tied me up in knots but other than that I am open to suggestions. Products, styles. Im open to suggestions. Its poker straight hair too.

I think with fine hair it all starts with the cut... ask a hairdresser for a shorter cut that works with your natural hair texture (and don't fall for buying their products)

Mine is v similar - looks straggly if much below hitting shoulders

Snap. I generally try and keep mine chin length and very choppy/layered, then I can spritz in some dry shampoo, salt spray or at the moment I'm loving Toni & Guy Matte Texturising Spray (or something like that) and give it a good ruffle. If I use an XL dry shampoo, like Collab, that really holds but it makes the hair feel a bit weird.

I am crap at getting it cut though and it is inching towards the shoulders so I am also rocking the Miss Haversham Grin

Thanks for the replies. Im a little fearful of a shorter cut. If I had glossy hair it might be better. It sticks out at every angle. I might try the Collab. I used a batiste powder shakery thing once and my hair went solid Shock
Any alternatives to the babyliss big hair? Id love to go out a la Farah Fawcett this weekend instead of jane (rod jane and freddy I'm giving my age away..

Buy a styling wand and go for a Kate Winslet look or Google Kate Moss and Naomi Watts and look at their styles as these celebs have fine straight hair.

Or what about Charlize T (can't remember surname).

You can - I'm told! - achieve wonderful things with bendy rollers.

If I were you, I'd book an appt with a hairdresser and get them to show you how to use the styling wand. it's what I keep meaning to do Grin

I have a long bob it's the only hair cut, that works for my fine hair. Needs a cut now tbh.

Or the Cameron Diaz cut I posted would look good.

Have you tried Aveda Invati products? Friend with fine shoulder length hair is raving about it and she's normally quite stuff and nonsense about beauty stuff. Her hair does look loads thicker.

I love this. Get one of these www.boots.com/en/Remington-CI96Z1-Silk-Waving-Wand_1339464/#rQD7zjUJoCpKD4QO.97, some heat protection and some hairspray and you're off

I get solid hair with that shaker plumping powder too! The Collab XL is similar, but as a spray much, much easier to disperse.

Thinking of getting the curling wand linked to earlier in the thread - did you try it OP how did you get on? Another one looking to add a bit of oomph to my boring fine shoulder length hair.....

Babylis Big Hair - I say this often on here, but did you try it on the slower speed? So much easier to handle, and less likely to tie your hair in knots (speaking from bitter experience).

I have shoulder length fine hair, and I have recently adopted a different tactic - growing it longer! It is now half way to my bra-strap, and hangs a lot better/sleeker than it did before. Mind you, it could be because the sprinkling of greys is giving it more body (every cloud....).

Sad update. The curling wand does not make me look boho chic like the girl in the video. My hair does not seem to take a curl these days. Possibly because its highlighted? Could that be it?
I couldn't find the colab stuff either..
Sadly I flogged my big hair contraption and I didn't try the slower speed Sad
