Please tell me what colour tops go with these Bordeaux skinnies!

Thinking of getting these skinny jeans (they're not really jeggings) in the Bordeaux colour which I like and seems to be very much around this season:

But don't want to end up getting very little use from them because I haven't got any tops which go with them.

Was thinking maybe grey or grey blue, like this, which I've bought from Poetry: www.poetryfashion.co.uk/product-VC22-POEKW/knitwear/knitted-cotton-tunic.htm

Do you think this, which I'd have shortened a bit and wear as a long sweater, would look good with them?

Views welcome - there must be other colour possibilities too. All suggestions gratefully received.

All three are lovely and would work well together. If definitely wear cream as well - maybe the Bidwn cream sweatshirt they have. A crisp white shirt would also look good. Or a white vest and oversized navy cardigan (I just bought the lovely navy cable knit from the White Company).
What's the quality like at Poetry? Never heard of them

I have a similar pair. Grey, black and white are all that I've managed to put with them. I haven't gotten as much wear out of them as I thought I would. I've put them on several times and taken them off again. I'm not sure why.

Thanks. Yes burnished that's my fear - that I wouldn't get enough use from them. But if navy looks OK as well that would help as I have a lot.

I do find Poetry quality good - as I'd hope at their prices! They've just opened a shop near Sloane Square as well as being online.

I'm with Burnished. I have a pair and in theory they should work with lots of things, but the only thing I've ever felt as if looks okay and is properly 'me' with them is a black cashmere jumper. I've not worn them anywhere near as much as I thought I might.

Tbh if I were you, I'd buy cheaper ones - they are a lot of money for something that might be a bit tricky to make work. Love that long grey jumper though, and think that might look nice.

Breton top would work I think.

Or a denim shirt.

Thanks Remus. Which grey jumper did you mean?

I only saw one grey jumper - the Poetry one??? V nice.

I tried mine with a Breton but felt like I was in fancy dress. And I hate burgundy with blue - reminds me of Aston Villa.

loads of burgundy jeggings around. I would get a cheaper pair and see how you get on with them. Very expensive for an item you may not wear that much. I had a pair of dark red skinnies and i didnt wear them much either.

Soft white, petrel blue, emerald, burnt orange, wine, silver grey, mole, cobalt, pine green. Lots of colours would go with burgundy, but it depends how adventurous you are about colour generally.

Also chocolate brown, teal, cream.

Here is my //Pinterest board of burgundy jeans, but v few of them have worked for me in reality. I think they'll be fine with a black biker and maybe a big checked blanket scarf.

I've got a similar coloured pair from Sainsburys - last winter, £18 I think.

I wear them lots with black, grey and khaki green. Brown or cream would work well.

I would def get a cheap pair and try out the look first before spending that much.

I have a similar (much cheaper) pair and wear them with navy, white, black, grey, mustard, pale pinks, forest greens, mint green, cream. But I am generally pretty adventurous with my clothing and colour choices.

Burgundy skinnies have been my staple jeans for a year and I wear pretty much anything with them including black, grey, cream, red checked shirt, leopard print, blue, yellow, denim shirts, stripes. I don't wear much green or peach so haven't tried those kinds of combos. the kinds of colours I own tend to go.
